4 sets of thumbs up from this family

So if your child enjoyed Hamilton and you thought it appropriate, same applies here! I agree with the other reviewer that kids younger than 10 may be bored because there is a lot of dialog. Our kids 11 and 15 loved it and it gave us a lot to discuss, about what is truly important in life. This is a great big screen experience, the choreography and cinematography... truly great first "back to the movies since pandemic" movie. I would have given 5 stars but it was very long for our 11 year old!

Not for kids, fine for mature ages 11 and up

This film was all in all amazing. I listen to the original Broadway soundtrack all the time. There's some swearing and s*xy references from the latinx stereotype of gossipy hair salon ladies, which you probably don't want your kid repeating. A main character beloved by the barrio (neighborhood) dies from what seems to be a heart condition (mentioned to be failing to take medications) or heat stroke (stress and the heat), and the moment seems to give most, if not all characters some sense of clarity. The film does include some language as well, and again don't take your kids if they're not mature enough to watch. (This film is not for my almost eight year old sister, maybe for my 12 year old brother, I'm almost 20). I highly recommend this, especially if you're looking for extremely accurate Latinx representation and diversity in a two and a half hour film.

Amazing!

One of my favorites! I'm a big fan of musicals and heard Anthony Ramos was in it. I was not disappointed. The music, the choreography, the plot, everything's incredible. Recommend it for anyone who's in high school or older.

Love it

The musical were very enjoyable! Some quick kisses and sexual dancing. Some language (sh** a** damn goddamn and skank.) One character dies peacefully and characters mourn her. Great Latino characters! Love this movie so much.

Very Fun, Musically diverse, perfect for tweens and teens to enjoy together

I'll be honest the only reason I wanted to watch this was because I knew Lin Manuel Miranda made it and Stephanie Beatriz (Salon Lady Carla) was in it. If you liked Hamilton you would love this. I know I did. there are some s*x references made and swearing, but nothing an 11 year old wouldn't know already.

Very Enjoyable

This was very well done with excellent music. It carries a rating of PG-13 and I believe that that is spot on. Nothing stood out as overly inappropriate, but some of the themes are more adult in nature and there is some mild language. I loved how the musical deals with issues of urban poverty in a Hispanic neighborhood. Even if younger pre-teens might be okay to be in the room while this is on, I do not think that much younger than 13 would particularly be interested in this movie. Some parents might not want any younger than that exposed to the content.

Ehh

The music and dance numbers were great but the overall story line was boring. And it was also waaaaay too long!

Great Movie

This movie was great but it does mention the word condom but only one time and it also mentions sex like 2 times but only in the singing part. Also it has no sex nor nudity it does have drinking tho. Overall this movie was great and has good messages! Oh and it does swear some too.
