Adults should have imaginary friends too?

*spoilers* This movie is about a girl who tries to help these Imaginary friends (IFs) find new friends. The basic idea of the story is fine. But my biggest issue with this movie is that it sends the message that IFs are important and your need them even as an adult. ā€œDonā€™t grow up! Your friends with miss you! Youā€™re never too old for an imaginary friend!!ā€ Imaginary friends are fine to an extent, but for the rest of your life? I donā€™t think so. I also found it really annoying at the supposedly ā€œemotional climax.ā€ So basically, the dad went through this surgery. The doctor walks out and says ā€œthe operation is successful, but heā€™s a bit tired.ā€ Now earlier in the movie, the girls mom dies. So maybe this is just PTSD or something but she runs in the room and finds her dad asleep. Now despite what the doctor JUST told us, she runs over there and is sitting by his side crying thinking heā€™s dead. And then when he wakes up, I guess this is supposed to be like an emotional scene, but it doesnā€™t make much sense at all. Overall the movie was ok, but I wouldnā€™t recommend.

Great movie for tweens

I was expecting this movie to be more childish, but it totally blew me away. The voice talent and directing was FANOMINAL! This movie made me laugh hysterically at some points, but also cry or feel anticipation. For younger kids, some topics could fly over their heads or evoke questions. When I saw the movie in theaters, there was a little boy, probably around 5 years old, who asked to go home. At the same time, attention spans of younger kids these days is not stellar, so certain moments with more heart and emotion could be seen as disengaging to them. The movie reminded me of my early childhood and brought back some good memories of having imaginary friends of my own. Once this movie comes out on digital, I am excited to buy and watch it again.

This was a great movie, itā€™s wholesome and adorable, and it made me cry. It has a slow beginning to it, can be somewhat sad in a few parts, and can be confusing in some parts to younger kids. In my opinion, it wouldnā€™t interest younger audiences as much, nor would their short attention spans be able to last through the beginning. But I do definitely think you should go and see this movie.

The Best Movie Ever!

My best buddy and I went to the movie theatre to watch this together a few months after it came out. I think we were both expecting just a cute little movie with fun characters, etc. Boy, were we wrong. Though this was what it was, there was even more to it. The film was beautiful, and my friend and I adored it. There was at least one scene that each one of us found particularly moving. I say 10+ because even though I feel like the movie is appropriate for almost all ages, older kids and even adults can get stuff out of it too, maybe even some things that the younger kids will miss. I highly recommend this movie. It is worth your time.

Reminder that we may grow in size, but we're always a kid at heart

This movie was a heartwarming reminder that even as we grow up, we never fully let go of our childhood. We all need to feel like a kid every now and again, and this did a fantastic job conveying that message. This movie is perfect for children of any age, so be ready to kick back and laugh along as you take a trip down memory lane, hand-in-hand with your imaginary friend.
