Its THE best musical of all time.

It’s a very heartwarming, fun and entertaining movie. The only actually bad thing for children in this move is the song “it takes a woman”, they sing about that your wife will work for infinity and that woman should clean and cook, but the song is also educational when it comes to how it worked back then, the movie is set in 1890 so it’s not really bad to learn things but it can be useful so tell your children that it does not work that way anymore. The movie is about love that it’s everywhere and it’s a beautiful thing.

Greatest Musical!

This is a good movie! I love the music and still watch dozens of musicals of it!

Amazing

I had to watch this in sixth grade and absolutely loved it! Dolly is one of the only women in that time who wants to accomplish things on her own and is well off. She shows no racial bias and welcomes all. Cornelius and Barnaby are loyal to their employer but wants adventure. Be warned there is a song, "It Takes A Woman" about sexism so be prepared to talk about that. Dolly grieves for her dead husband in a beautiful song. This gives a historical setting, with educational value. This is fine with any age group but it older kids will probably process it faster. The message is love who you want and love always finds a way. There is an argument between Ambrose, Ermenguarde, and her uncle. There's use of the word "ninny" in a song and Dolly sets up Ermenguarde's uncle up with same person that one of his employees likes. Irene talks about hat makers being called witches and evil women. Minnie screams when she sees men in the shop. Irene can also be a little sassy.

Fantastic

I absolutely loved this movie. The humour is spot on. If you like musicals, you will love this movie. It is too long for very young children. There is also is one song that gives a sexist portrayal of women, but is fitting for the setting.

Hello, Great classic!

This is an AMAZING classic that kids will cherish. I love it! My concerns I put are VERY minor (girls in skirts, trying to show off by "Wearing Ribbons Down my Back", People drinking champagne, and two uses of the d--- word.) But, people are always trying to help (especially Dolly) and working hard. (especially Barnaby and Cornelius)It's a wonderful romance classic with great songs (I'm always singing "Put on your Sunday Clothes). You'll love it!

Not good

Interesting only because of the spectacle. Overdone and predictable.
