Good Movie For Kids

Little language, not that frequent. Violence not gory at all. Not scary. If there violence or a scary scene, it's covered up with humor. Good movie to introduce kids to PG-13 movies.

Great Movie, Highly Recommend

I really liked this movie. There were quite a few funny scenes and it is a good action/fantasy movie. I think it was very well done and can appeal to many ages ranging from 12 up. It depends on what a kid can handle, but it should be good for 12 maybe 11 year olds. It wasnā€™t scary, but had evil and dark magic if your kid canā€™t handle that. I would definitely watch it again and loved the actors in it! There was representation and diversity in the characters and I feel that that is important. There were good messages and positive role models.

Long Review Description - No Spoilers-

I donā€™t know if this counts as educational but I feel like it teaches a lot about medieval history and time period. It shows how it looks like to live then although of course exaggerated and fictional to some degree. {Next point} I think the messages are amazing. Each character had their own development and special message they portrayed. Learn to let things go, Always believe in yourself, learn to trust people, and etc. {Next point} Now all the characters have different good and bad attributes but I personally think the mom was the greatest role model. She was always kind, caring, loving, protective, encouraging and more. {Next point} It has tons of violence. Stabbing, slicing people in half, being eaten alive, dissolved alive, head chopping, skeletons, speared through, eye hanging out, magic used to kill people or seriously harm people, slashing of throats, and much more. Even though it sounds bad it has no blood whatsoever. May I warn you there are some scenes that have jump scares. {Next point} There isnā€™t a lot of love scenes. Only some kissing and flirting. Characters use f word, B word, a word, and some others. In the beginning it showed how a character was drunk and would often fall over because of it. Throughout the movie characters were shown in bars or rather taverns drinking alcohol. {Next point} I loved the movie! If had a lot of action, comedy, and multiple beautiful messages. I would not recommend this for younger kids because of all the violence and some jarring looking characters.

Amazing Movie.

This is an amazing movie. I liked the comedy/action/fantasy genre and it was a great plot. The only reason Iā€™m giving it a 13+ is some bits were a bit freaky for example the red witch transforming into the little girl. There is some action and violence.

Nothing more than mindless entertainment!

Totally medium film. Nothing to write home about, it was just mindless entertainment with fairly pleasing CGI backgrounds and some fun monster fights. If you want some fun Dungeons and Dragons dribble look no further!

Underrated Movie with good morals, but some scary villans

An intresting movie that had lots of action packed scenes and a good moral and theme. The story overall was about doing the right thing and working together with people (trusting them not based of of what they have done.) It also is about believing in your teammates. Overall it's a really good family watch, but there are some scary things. The sorcerer' are quite scary for younger viewers, there is also a graveyard scene where they raise the dead to life, and that might be scary for younger viewers.

Still waiting for the good part that never came.

The one word I can use to describe this movie is "fine." It isn't inappropriate, too gory, or violent, and has little sexual content, the humor is average. It's perfectly appropriate for mature 10/11-year-olds and up. My problem is the content. I sat through the entire (long) film waiting for the good part. It never came. Overall the film was quite dry and boring, and the action was not very exciting. If this film is the only option, go for it, but be prepared for disappointment.
