Great Messages about following you’re passion and family. It is a entrepreneurial story about a chef that starts his own food truck after being fired unfairly and it’s motivating for employees where they’re boss yell at them and then they’re like fuck this I’m going to do my own thing. The only thing to worry about is language hence it’s the main reason for The Film’s R Rating with 53 Uses of The F-Word but almost all of it comes from the first half of the movie because things clear up when a child comes into play also some sexual references/talk. There is some consumerism but it doesn’t have to do with the main plot.

Inspiring, Uplifting
A movie that displays a chef's passion. Even when it seems it may be a dead end, Carl finds a way back to his passion and takes it to the road! Personally, as a chef and a teacher, this movie inspires me to purchase my own food truck and travel the country doing what I love best!

Good for kids 12 and up
It does have a lot of cursing, and some concepts that are inappropriate, but it will most likely to fly over kids heads. IN the end it's a fun film that you can enjoy with your family

Pretty good
To cut to the chase there was a little innuendo between ex-husband and wife where the Ex-husband was like did you f**k that guy after we divorced and she was like “ I sat down with him had a few drinks but we realized we were just friends” and the ex husband does Remarry her so it’s kind of justified. Early in the the movie the ex-husband flirts with the hostess of the restaurant (they were oblivious in a relationship) and takes her to his apartment and cooks for her there is no sex or innuendo in that scene part of her shirt did sag down her shoulder but not in a sexy manner there is a no implication they made out There is one scene where someone does a little pot but dosent get high and I didn’t even notice until I saw the way she was holding the cigarette I mean they don’t even talk about no kid would recognize it and it would easily get by an adult now they common sense review does talk about the kid getting a sip of beer but the dad didn’t do it irresponsibly what happened was the dads friend was like have some beer kid and the dad was like ya give it to him the kid takes a sip spits it out and the dad was like remember that whenever your friends offer you a drink but honestly I think it was rated r because there was a lot of f**ks in it like pretty much every sentence. But, if your kid knows about sex and you trust he/she/they won’t repeat it then I mean it’s really fine there are very positive messages the father and son argue because his father keeps blowing him off but then the dad takes him on an adventure in his new food truck and they really bond and have fun and that helps the dad realize he needed to man up and be a dad and he does the relationship you see grow with the dad and son is so inspiring and emotional while still comedic and cute

It’s 86’d
I was very excited to watch this movie, hoping it would hit a few marks. None whatsoever. 20 years working in Food Industry... this movie couldn’t be farther than the truth. The storyline is choppy and unrealistic. It unfortunately gives “Waiting” a better name.

Yes, Chef
Jon Favreau is a gifted director and actor so when you get both in one movie it's a treat. Chef is well written and beautifully acted! Jon Favreau and John Leguizamo have great chemistry. The movie does a very good job weaving through all of the issues that families have with divorce and relationships. The foodservice and hospitality industry is portrayed wonderfully as well. Parents should know that there is language, sex is implied or discussed in some scenes with nothing shown, drug use (smoking marijuana a couple times). What can I say...it's very good.

It could have been a family movie is it wasn't for all the cursing
About 150 uses of the f word and a lot more words that are bad. Has some inappropriate talk but nothing else
