Surprisingly GREAT

Our child is sensitive, adopted, and we try and avoid movies with child protagonists who have experienced the loss of a parent or are orphans. It is usually done so badly. This is such a common premise for kid movies, it is a pet peeve. That said, if done right, it can be therapeutic. This movie addressed loss and the complex emotions that surround loss in such a great way for our family. Good family night movie and led to good discussion and tons of laughter. Added kudos for expanded gender and racial representation. I felt that cisgender girls would be happy with this film also and it was subtlety not centered on the white, male experience. Yes, it was ultimately a "superhero" origin story, but it was artful, focused heavily on the STEM skills needed to realize robotic technology, and not a heavy-handed bore. It was FUNNY.

Great movie!

This is a great movie! When it was suggested I wasn't sure at first, but I watched it and it was amazing! Perfect combination of a funny adventure and emotion. Cool main characters, great animation, and really funny scenes! I think lots of kids would love this movie, because of the funny robot, Baymax. Even older kids would enjoy it! Great film!

I love this movie! The funky robot mixed with a grumpy teenager makes an awesome movie to watch forever

The one scary thing for my kids was when the masked man attacked with the mini robots

Some peril and scary moments

(Written by 9yo boy) I do not recommend this for a family movie night but it can be okay to watch on your own or with a sibling or friend. This is because there is a boy who is dealing with the loss of a brother and is trying to save the world at the same time. There are some scary sci-fi moments and the fact of a woman who is being used in a science experiment. And the villain thinks she dies but she is okay in the end, just injured and has to go to the hospital. Overall, I think this is an okay movie.

A Baymax hug is the cure

This film is GREAT! Wow you cannot help but fall for this lovely marshmallow robot! It is sooooo easy to root for him and for the young prodigy who is struggling with so much grief. This film is beautifully crafted as we go on this painful journey with both the robot and Hiro. The film offers a bevy of opportunities for tears...it is easy to get wrapped up into the emotional consequences of each character choice. The team is presented well and the character development unfolds itself in a way that makes you excited to get to know each character. How else are you going to be excited for slacker Fred? The film's storytelling, risk taking and reminders of how to recover from grief are all heartfelt. Like every Baymax hug.

Big Hero 6 Movie Review By Logan Strohl

One of the best movies from Disney with a great cast story and score by Henry Jackman. Based on the comic book of the same name created by Man Of Action. A fun exciting movie the whole family and superhero fans well enjoyed.

Lessons for hero and villain

I love the diversity of the characters, the challenges to common stereotypes, and the way that the hero and villain are facing the same fundamental struggle: grief. It has enough action and humor to satisfy any child and is a story with a message that doesn't get preachy. Some big feelings for sensitive kids, and intense confrontations, but manage to stay positive and not overwhelming.

Very Entertaining Super Flick!

Big Hero 6 is a great original superhero movie. The tech and powers paired with their corresponding characters are really interesting to watch. Also, the animation is amazing and for an animated movie, the story arc is also pretty great. This is why even though I rated this for 7+, I would highly recommend it to anyone of any age. PS. I love Stan Lee's cameo, great touch.
