A alright alien movie that has a great start but flops a bit at the end.

Just finished watching at imax. Well its got it's good points, like the sets,puppetry/animatronics and the some of the story is really good to, the acting was very well done. But it was predictable in places, and a lot of the same dialogue was used from like alien and aliens, which made it a bit humorous. The ending did a alien resurrection job. Half human/alien/engineer,which was a bit pants. I'd say if you like alien resurrection then you'll like this. As i said i didn't hate it by any means, but wasn't a blow your socks of wow movie. If i was to recommend it,I'd say wait for streaming or bluray or if tou want to see it go to a standard cinema. A decent alien film that has plenty of nostalgia but has too much going on all in one go. i personaly liked it but wasn't like amazed(i preferred promethus in terms of suspence etc)and tried to copy a lot from alien, aliens and alien resurrection a little to much. so the same cocktail just a with a youger cast. this one was definitely more directed for the more teen audience i think. but saying that it is just my opinion, but would see it again. A solid 6.5/10 for me

A great addition to the Alien franchise

Alien: Romulus is the newest entry into the Alien franchise and, in my opinion, it fits right in next to the first two (but it's not as good as them). Violence/horror 4/5 While there is no doubt that Romulus contains some shocking gore, the violence happens infrequently enough that there is time to breathe between characters getting picked off. If you are familiar with the Alien series then you will probably have a good idea about how some of these deaths will go (creatures bursting out of chests, acid blood melting skin down to the bone etc.). On the tension side, Romulus is relentless once it passes the 20 minute mark. Sequence after sequence will have you clenching your arm rests. The movie contains some of the most effective jump scares of the year, one towards the end particularly comes to mind. Swearing 4/5 The film contains frequent use of f**k and other language including s**t. Sex 2/5 There are some brief verbal references to sex but nothing graphic. Drugs/Alcohol/Tobacco 2/5 Teenage characters can be seen smoking cigarettes early in the movie. Other issues There are brief references to some of the characters having dead parents. A young pregnant comes into danger which could upset some people. Overall, I believe that Alien: Romulus is appropriate for teenagers aged 15 and older because of frequent scenes of horror, occasional gory violence and strong bad language.

Very intense disturbing, but fantastic movie! Not for kids!!!

Very. Very. Disturbing movie. I have seen some of very messed up movies, but this is insanity. I have a high tolerance for extreme gore, but this was next level. (Content warning) There was a back of a persons head shown open, major chest cavities, with bones sticking out on different corpses. Bloody corpses, up close attack of xenomorph, and much, much worse. Think of something disturbing, it’s in it.
