What’s It About?
In PRINCE OF PERSIA: THE LOST CROWN, the royal family has been betrayed, and Prince Ghassan has been kidnapped. So it's up to you, Sargon, to rescue him before it's too late. But something is very wrong in the castle. Time seems broken, and things that shouldn't move are now in motion. There's plenty of action and battle, with less of the blood and gore of similar games, with some positive themes and messages interwoven.
Is It Any Good?
A throwback to this series' roots, this game is as good as the classics that inspired it. In Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown, Prince Ghassan has been kidnapped, and Sargon must rescue him from a castle where time seems to be broken, the undead walk, and even statues are trying to kill you. Which is why you must use your dual swords, your bow & arrow, and your considerable acrobatic skills to not only kill anything that gets in your way, but also to get past all the deadly traps, spiked floors and walls, and physics-based puzzles that prevent you from exploring further.
While this may bring back memories of original Prince Of Persia from 1989, it never feels dated. If anything, it feels more like both a modernization and an evolution. Not only do you have new, and helpful skills -- including being able to slide as well as upgrade your equipment -- but the controls feel as fluid and intuitive as any modern 2D side-scrolling game. In fact, despite having some minor issues (an inability to take a moment and aim your arrows; a story that's just okay), Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown is still as much fun as its classic ancestors.

Families can talk about violence in video games. In Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown theres a good amount of violence in terms of battle and having to fight and kill enemies who are trying to kill you, but there is little in terms of blood and gore. Does this game achieve the same thrill, excitement and fun that other battle games with more blood and gore do?
Families can talk about perseverance and why this is an important character strength. In this game, you sometimes have to do something over and over to get it right. Why is it important to keep trying, even if the task seems impossible? And why is it also important to know when a task actually is impossible -- or not possible yet -- and to try something different?
Families can talk about ancient Persia and the Middle East. Take time to learn the history, culture, traditions and more from Iran, including how it shifted from Persia to Iran. Can you see any of this culture or history depicted in the game?
