Connect All Families
Common Sense called on lawmakers to connect all families and close the digital divide—and they listened.
Congress dedicated over $80 billion in funding in 2021 to help connect the millions of families caught in the digital divide. The internet, a computer, and the skills to use them—three things every person needs to thrive in the modern world. At Common Sense, our mission is to ensure every person has them. Here's how we're doing it.
We have the opportunity to connect every family in the country.
When every home has high-speed internet service, devices, and digital citizenship resources, families can take advantage of access to education, health care, and career development. We're working across the country to ensure that new funding is used to build broadband infrastructure that offers internet service that families and businesses can afford, and that ongoing digital inclusion training and resources are available for those who need them.
