What's the Story?
In THE WISH LIBRARY SERIES, new friends Raven and Luca discover a magic wishing well where they can ask for anything they want and the wish will be granted. When Raven doesn't want to stand in front of the class for her presentation or Luca wants to keep his mom from finding out about trouble at school, they go see the librarian at the wish library. She'll grant them almost any wish, but they must return it before the deadline or there will be terrible consequences. But even when they return the wishes to the library, the young friends find that their actions had effects they hadn't considered, and sometimes it seems like they didn't need to wish after all.
Is It Any Good?
This series' fun premise gives young readers the chance to dream about they'd wish for. And the lovely way the stories are structured helps them think about what would happen if endless wishes could come true. The Wish Library Series centers on friendship and communication, and reminds readers that most situations are more complicated than they seem, and that changing one event can have lots of unintended consequences. The stories are simple and engaging, but the real treasure is how those stories spark ideas and conversations for readers.
