What's the Story?
In THE BLUR, a cute baby's parents discover that the baby is maybe a superhero. Especially when the child starts walking and running around, they definitely become The Blur, fearlessly racing off into the next life event. Will they make it all the way to college?
Is It Any Good?
This cute story completely runs with the idea that for many parents, lots about raising kids can be "a blur." Also, children grow up so fast, like in a blur. This allows for many moments and jokes for parents that universalize the parent experience, which helps to show that no matter what race you are, many parents suffer and enjoy parenting similarly.
The life story is also about a clearly confident and fun Asian American child blazing through life before their parents' eyes. And the art is simply wonderful in The Blur, the third collaboration between author Minh Le and illustrator Dan Santat.
