What's the Story?

In SPIDER-MAN: ANIMALS ASSEMBLE!, a threat hits the city, and Spider-Man is ready to help save the day -- but he's asked to watch other superheroes' pets rather than go sling webs and fight crime himself. Feeling more than a little sorry for himself, Spidey serves as pet-sitter for a fish, a frog, a falcon, an ant, a panther, a dog, a cat, and many others ... until somehow the cat, dog, and fish escape into the city. In a panic, Spider-Man zips around the city looking for animals and makes a surprising contribution to capturing a villain.

With great pacing, repetitive sight words, and lots of funny dialogue, this Marvel Universe graphic novel is great for emerging readers who love superheroes and offbeat adventures. Spider-Man: Animals Assemble! may be short on plot, but it packs lots of sly humor into the repetitive pet-sitting requests. The illustrations are bright and engaging, and fans will find endless details hidden in the background while Spider-Man zips around the city with his armload of animals.
