What's the Story?

MILLIONS OF MAXES follows the story of young Max who loves himself and his name. He proudly displays his name everywhere in his bedroom and enjoys when his parents call him, "the one and only Max." But one day an ordinary trip to the park turns into a day of unexpected discoveries. Max is shocked to learn he is "no longer the one and only Max" when he meets three more Maxes -- one who even has a tail! Max realizes that the world is a big and diverse place, with lots of people who have similarities and differences. He quickly learns what makes him unique, and gains friends along the way.

This spirited and funny picture book shows how we're all a part of a great, big world. Millions of Maxes offers children an important lesson: The world isn't all about them. Max serves as a wonderful role model for children, as he able to change his thinking and expand his worldview for the better. The story will likely spark curiosity in readers, about the world around them. The book's superb inclusion of diverse characters makes the story even richer. Micah Player's illustrations are bright, bold, and soulful. This a sweet read for the whole family.
