♡ Lily and Dunkin ♡
It’s good I really liked it :) it says penis sometimes and hell and crap and stuff but nothing too bad. When Lily was a young kid she said she wanted to chop off her penis because it didn’t belong...and there is some suicide. One character committed suicide and Lily’s father is worried that Lily will as well, but she doesn’t..There is some talk about male puberty that Lily tries to avoid, such as hair in armpits and on penis. But it spreads lots of good messages. All in all it is a good book and I’m glad I read it ♡ ♡ ♡

One of the Best Books
This book is wonderful. It talks slightly about genitalia but not in an inappropriate way, just describes gender dysphoria. It teaches kids what transgender means in a positive and self loving way. Has talk of suicide, but grief is normal in life.

This book is AMAZING, there are some inaproprate parts but other that that is was so good!

Crying and smiling at the same time
Wow. This book truly is a good book. I read it in the days with not much free time. It kept me interested the whole way.

I don't know what to say
Lily and Dunkin is about a transgender girl and a boy with bipolar disorder who are about to start eighth grade. This book is realistic, and sadly enough, that doesn't exclude the parts of LGBTQ+ kids being bullied, but it raises awareness about tough topics and makes a deep impression. I am glad Donna Gephart wrote this book, because it not only gave me something to read and helped me better understand what LGBTQ life is like, but I also have no doubt it will someday make a huge impression on the rest of the world. The author writes about complex, mature topics and doesn't treat the audience like they're just learning about these topics-instead, she assumes that her readers are familiar with these topics and provides more information about them. This is not something I see from every author I read, and I appreciate that Ms. Gephart writes like that. I highly recommend this book if you are specifically looking for books with LGBTQ characters or if you just want a good book to read.

Promotes Understading
A great story with an emphasis on empathy, and understanding. It has a very accurate representation of the age group, and what lengths people go to for social survival. It also portrays mental illness, and the LGBT+ community.

Great Depiction of Transgender Teen's Minds
This is a great book for kids to understand what it's like to be transgender and bi-polar. It is a great read, and has a lot of emotion.
