This is a simple, engaging word book to read and a great concept book for young children. Written in short verse, Lejor / Far presents each example as a statement, first in Spanish, then followed by the italicized English translation on the next line. Colorful and happy, full-page illustrations by Blanca Gómez feature cool blues and greens, accented with yellows and reds, while ample white skies to provide a visual balance. Many young readers may identify with the round-faced, brown-skinned, little boy and the relationship he has with his dad -- traveling on dad's shoulders as they explore new places together. It's a great little concept book for exploring spatial awareness and learning a new language with young children.
