What's the Story?
KETANJI BROWN JACKSON: A JUSTICE FOR ALL mixes poetry and history to tell the Supreme Court associate justice's life story, which was written in the stars by the sacrifice and struggles of her ancestors. Despite her ancestors' freedom being stolen, it was their hopes and protests for equity that allowed her dream to be born. Ketanji worked hard and overcame segregation, discouraging words, and many long nights at work to ultimately be voted into the highest court of the land. Even when she was ready to take her seat, others tried to break her down. Her courage and pallowed her to hold head high and accomplish her dreams. It took 232 years, but Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson became the the first Black women to serve on the Supreme Court.
Is It Any Good?
This a great, poetic read that pays homage to Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson, while not forgetting to attribute some of her success to those who came before her. "Ketanji set her sights higher, knowing the steps they took gave her wings to soar and want more for herself, the people, this land."
