Author Jorge Tetl Argueta creates a lyrical journey through repeating word patterns that emulate ripples and waves even as he describes beautiful landscapes. The full-page illustrations that accompany the text in Agua, Agüita / Water, Little Water give vivid visuals for Agüita's cycle of life and remind readers that water is all around us. The vibrant illustrations portray the different forms and colors that water can take on -- droplets glistening on leaves, a river rolling from a mountain, rain falling from clouds, an orange and purple ocean at sunset -- and taps into the imagination of young readers as they learn about the water cycle in Spanish and English.
