Dwayne Jenkins's Profile
About Dwayne Jenkins
Dwayne approaches every situation with an active ear, open mind, and willful heart. He's always been a staunch critic of whatever show, movie, game, or comic fell into his lap -- a trait that would later see him writing his own book or two! He worked at the Woodlawn branch within the Baltimore County Public Library system, deepening his adoration for the fabled art of storytelling. Later, he landed at BlackGold Publishing (a publishing house specializing in strengthening and representing Black and PoC voices), first as an author, then as an editor. After serving as head editor for more than a year, Dwayne decided to expand his editorial horizons, landing at Ranker as a content editor, where he'd edit digital media content across the entertainment spectrum. But he longed to return to the medium that kickstarted his love of fantastical worlds and unique characters in the first place: the world of gaming! Now as a game reviewer for Common Sense, Dwayne can do what he’s always wanted to do: play and talk about video games with a critical, nuanced eye to help give parents and kids thoughtful perspectives and views.
