What's It About?

In WWE CHAMPIONS FREE PUZZLE RPG, you manage a bunch of wrestlers and help them fight their way through a series of matches in hopes of getting that WWE championship belt. Oddly, there's a lot less drama in this game than there is in real wrestling; this has none of the plot twists or epic sagas you get from WrestleMania.

While this game expertly combines elements of a match-3 puzzler with a fighting game, its shallowness ultimately makes it dull for anyone not into wrestling. In WWE Champions Free Puzzle RPG, players have to match three gems of the same shape and color. Doing so causes their chosen wrestler to attack his opponent, who can either be another player or the computer. Matching certain colored gems also fills up meters that, when full, give you special attacks. Ultimately, you either have to smack your adversary until they run out of health or you can pin them. Players also have access to a wide variety of past and present WWE superstars, all of whom can have their skills upgraded with points you earn. But while this can be fun, especially if you're a big WWE fan, people more into it for puzzle parts will quickly lose interest because this only get about as complex and challenging as the tutorial levels of a dedicated match-3 game. Also, the music is atrocious. And yet, if you're into wrestling -- and really, why would you play this otherwise? -- WWE Champions Free Puzzle RPG is a fun way to get your favorite gladiators to obey your every whim.

Talk to Your Kids About ...

  • Families can talk about budgeting their money. Do you really need to spend money on this game, or can you just earn those upgrade points and new characters by playing?

  • Talk about physical training. Wrestlers are trained professionals, and wrestling matches are carefully choreographed, so what should you learn about physical safety from playing this game?

  • Discuss conversing with other players. Why do you need to be careful when sending messages to other players? What do you think could go wrong?
