Sweet graphics and gentle narration provide a simple, straightforward, and generally appealing basic introduction to understanding numbers and quantity. The balloon pop, ice cream race, and create story activities are the most fun and interactive. The first two even have multiple levels of difficulty to grow with kids as they want more of a challenge. Animations that introduce number-sense vocabulary are certainly sweet but may disappoint. There's only a small set of concepts, no opportunity for interaction, and incomplete instructions for how to use the "math machine." In fact, the whole of Pocoyo Playset - Number Party is pretty limited in what it offers. If your kids already love Pocoyo, this could be a nice, harmless opportunity for them to interact with familiar characters and get a small dose of basic number-sense practice at the same time. And with lots of how-to instruction, even young kids can easily play. Parents looking specifically for a number-sense app, though, may want to look for something more in depth than Pocoyo Playset - Number Party.
