What’s It About?
In PEEKABOO BARN, kids first see a red barn that bounces with muffled sounds. They tap the door to reveal a goat, horse, cow, duck, or other animal. A narrator labels each animal in the chosen language and kids see the name in lowercase letters. Kids tap again to close the barn door and cycle through the animals. The game ends when night falls and all the animals gather in the barn to sleep.
Is It Any Good?
This sweet app uses the game of peek-a-boo to help kids learn to identify more than a dozen animals. There are multiple narrator possibilities -- a child voice in English or an adult voice in English, Spanish, Cantonese, Dutch, French, German, Hindi, Italian, Japanese, Mandarin, or Swedish; parents and kids can also record their own narration. With all of these variations, kids can play the Peekaboo Barn with each of the different narrators, lengthening this otherwise short game.

Play along with your kids and repeat the names for them. Ask your kids to repeat after you and spell the words together.
If your kids are unfamiliar with farm animals, see if you can find a nearby petting zoo to visit.
