This private social network can be a great way for kids to connect with nearby or far-away family and friends by focusing together on learning mindfulness techniques. myKinCloud: Family Mindfulness is a mix between a social network where users can post and chat about whatever they want, and a mental/emotional health guide for mindfulness. For the social network piece, it's nice to be able to create a private invitation-only network. On the mindfulness side, the yoga and meditation exercises are super accessible as they're bite-sized and kid friendly. Gratitude prompts are also a cool addition, and a great way to encourage users to regularly reflect on what their grateful for. The daily emotional check-in is the weakest section, with just a few limited choices for expressing how you're feeling. myKinCloud: Family Mindfulness is marketed as a tool for parents and kids to use together, yet some families may feel uncomfortable about connecting with each other through a device. And, kids must have regular access to a device to participate, which also may not make it a good fit for some families. On the other hand, this could be a great tool for helping kids communicate with far-flung loved ones or encouraging uncommunicative teens to connect with caregivers in a nonthreatening way. All in all, myKinCloud: Family Mindfulness has some great content and a fun platform for sharing with family and friends.
