Spams contacts and is a tool for predators

I had this app on my phone and was using it to talk to a relative out of state. It is a video chat app so we used it to talk back and forth. It keeps your chats on their servers. You can delete them from your end if you remember to. I did not clear my video chats and said a lot of personal things while venting. I changed my phone number. This app requires that you log in with your phone number and then it sends your phone a verification code. I wanted to delete my account from this app but could not do it without my old phone number to receive the text verification code. Multiple emails pleading with support back and forth did nothing. They wouldn't help me delete the account. This means the next person to get my old phone number will be able to view all of my video chats if they add Marco Polo to their phone. The account is tied to the phone number. I'm just waiting for my life to be ruined now if anything I said goes viral as this app contains all of my phone's contacts too as well as my name and email address.

Privacy THREAT

This is your potential privacy nightmare. NO END-TO-END Encryption. Please be wise and stay with Signal Messenger, it has all the same functionality and is secure end to end encrypted and NOT spamming your contacts like Marco Polo, Signal only sends an invite upon your own request. Marco Polo App is non of this... stay away from this app, for your own sake. (besides Signal, there is of course WhatsApp which is also "end to end encrypted", but we all know this is owned by Facebook, and they steal your contact details too). It is also not compliant with the EU-GDPR, there is no way to contact them and have your chats removed from their server when you lose your phone number (prepaid for example). Nowhere is said how long your chats and (intimate) video conversations are stored on THEIR servers, and no way of telling how well all your UNENCRYPTED messages are protected against a data leak. Stay away from this app...!!

Is It Any Good?

Creating group video chats across platforms can be tricky, but this app makes it easier. Teens can create video chat with individuals or leave video messages for friends to view later. The notable advantage with Marco Polo - Video Chat is the ability to watch videos from your contacts at your leisure, which can help people on different schedules connect more easily. And the conversation is archived, so you can go back and rewatch it whenever you'd like without searching for a video on your device. Parents will want to ensure they know everyone in their child's contact list and talk about limits around how many messages are OK to send and when to send them.
