Registration

They are taking money out of my account and I didn't even sign up. I tried it for a week and then after that I couldn't get into it so I figured my trial was over but now they are taking money out of my account on a monthly basis and they conveniently say there are no refunds and my subscription is still good. I tried to tell them what happened and I can't even use it but to no avail. I will not use Leap Frog ever again and will tell parents to watch out for their scam.

What’s It About?

LEAPFROG ACADEMY LEARNING brings together more than 2,000 games, activities, ebooks, and other learning content into one dashboard where kids age 3 to 6 can progress at their own pace. The content covers math, science (and STEM), problem-solving, reading and writing, art, music, health, and social emotional skills. Kids can access the activities via a guided path, or they can explore specific areas of interest. There are even suggested activities for kids who are struggling in a particular area or who need an extra challenge. As kids progress, they earn marbles. When they fill their marble meter, they choose a prize, such as an outfit or hairdo for their avatar.

While the subscription may be a bit steep, kids will find more educational games and activities than they know what to do with. LeapFrog Academy Learning relies on expertly crafted content from people who understand child development and early education curriculum, meaning you're going to get solid, age-appropriate learning. The guided pathway is easy enough for kids to follow and keeps kids from sticking exclusively to their favorite activities. Little ones might find the greater dashboard to be overwhelming, however. It's hard to know where to go with so many choices. As with all LeapFrog content, some games are more fun than others, and some have more clear objectives than others. And it would be nice to see some more in-depth content that uses the screen in an innovative way, even if that means less content overall. All in all, this is an excellent choice for parents looking to entertain their kids and/or augment the preschool learning they've already received. You'll pay for it, but you can be assured you're getting some solid digital learning materials.

  • Families can talk about the letters and letter sounds in LeapFrog Academy Learning. Do a scavenger hunt around the house for a certain letter. Slightly older kids can search for items that start with the letter sound.
