What’s It About?
Kids design their own monster puppet, adding eyes, a nose, and hat, and then play with their monster. They can take a picture of their creation, make their monster dance, or see a short skit with their monster and Elmo. The graphics are impressively realistic, and the backgrounds and body parts are updated seasonally.
Is It Any Good?
ELMO'S MONSTER MAKER is a great app. The video on it is truly amazing. You will create a muppet monster, choosing the eyes, nose, hat, and so on, but when that monster plays and dances with Elmo in the videos, it looks totally real. There's a real wow factor for young kids (and frankly, adults may think it's pretty neat, too). The interplay between Elmo and your custom muppet will also be genuinely funny. It may feel a bit short, but with so many possible combinations and so many potentially new and different monsters, there's plenty of replay value.
