What's It About?

In DR. PANDA BATH TIME, kids help Dr. Panda and his friends clean up after a busy day. One by one the dirty animals knock on the bathroom door so kids can lead them through the process of getting clean. Each character requests certain things through a series of thought bubbles, but kids can bring them through other stations if they wish. First stop is typically the laundry, where kids remove the dirty clothes and put them in the washing machine. They add dirty clothes from a laundry basket, add laundry detergent, and then press the start button. When the wash is done, they hang the clothes to dry. At the toilet, kids might tap the character to hurry them along and then provide toilet paper (though it's not required). Next stop is hand-washing at the sink, but soap is optional. The characters usually choose either a bath or a shower, both of which require some soap and a little scrubbing. Then they dry off with a dryer or towel. Some characters might want to brush their teeth, so kids can choose between a regular toothbrush and an electric version. And finally, it's time to pick a clean outfit for the character to wear before a new friend arrives at the door.

Kids say (1 ):

With some parental guidance, this is a fun way for young kids to learn more about important hygiene habits. Dr. Panda Bath Time provides a chance for kids to act out their own bath routine or come up with a new one with the animal friends. For parents, it's an opportunity to reinforce the importance of washing hands, using soap, brushing teeth, and other important habits. The experience would be more powerful if the directions were more explicit instead of needing to rely on an adult, and the addition of a washing machine (but no dryer) may only serve to muddy the lessons for families who aren't yet asking preschoolers to help wash clothes. In the end, it's not the deepest learning opportunity, but it will entertain kids in the target age group and provide some education along the way.
