What’s It About?
COURSE HERO - HOMEWORK HELP is a subscription service for homework help via tutors and access to course information, like notes. Students can search the thousands of classes included and download course materials. They can also send a photo or text-based question to a tutor and receive a quick response. Two questions are included for the free version with more questions allowed with the subscription. Similarly, the number of downloads are limited with the free version, with full access with a subscription. The app is powered by real people: tutors who are paid or get credits for loading course documents and answering question. If the tutor who first sees a question can't answer it, it is passed on to another tutor.
Is It Any Good?
For the price a one tutoring session a month, this tool can offer students access to ask a tutor questions. For an app, the Course Hero - Homework Help subscription is pricey, but for higher level high school classes and college courses, this may be a worthwhile investment. The tutors respond very quickly -- there are usually hundreds available at any time. The course documents, though, are sketchier. Some schools and classes may have stellar content while others may be disappointing. Overall, the customer service and tutoring service are very responsive, so the quality of the course docs might improve -- or be an acceptable loss.
