About Slovakia

The manufacturing remains the strongest employment sector in Slovakia, representing one quarter of all jobs in the economy. The automotive industry is the backbone of country’s manufacturing, contributing to the economy and export more than in any other European country. The country’s economy performed well in recent years and contributed to solid employment growth and decreasing unemployment rate.

The rise of employment is also expected over the period to 2030. It will be driven by jobs growth in accomodation & food, arts & recreation, professional services and health & social care. The occupations that will have most new job openings in next decade will be personal service workers, care workers and legal & social associate professionals. More than half of total job openings (including replacements for vacated jobs) till 2030 will need high qualification level while the number of job opportunities for people with low qualifications will continue to shrink.
