Your support helps make a better life for cats

We can only be there for all the cats that need us thanks to your help. Whether you are an individual donor wanting to give a gift of £5,000 or more, or a grant -making trust or foundation, we’re here to support your giving and ensure that your generosity has the biggest impact for cats. 

How your donation can help 

Supporters like you are vital in helping us achieve our strategic goals. We use our decades of experience to help cats and support owners, offering a huge range of advice and support: from finding the right cat, or tackling behaviour and health issues, to dealing with loss and grief or fostering cats for anyone fleeing domestic abuse. 

When rehoming is the right thing to do, we look after cats with care and kindness, and help them find a loving new place to live. 
 
In every corner of the UK our passionate volunteers, employees and supporters are using their skill and expertise to make life better for millions of cats and the people who love them. We are hugely grateful for every gift that enables us to carry out this work.  

In 2023, support from major donors and charitable trusts and foundations helped us to:

  • find new homes for 30,000 cats and help 1,050 cats stay with their owners
  • handle 1,550 calls and emails via our Paws to Listen service to provide compassionate emotional support and practical information to people grieving the loss of their cats
  • ensure a balanced and healthy cat population by conducting research to understand owned, stray and feral cat populations, promoting the benefits of neutering, and neutering 157,000 cats including 12,000 feral cats  
  • support 229 families to flee domestic abuse by providing 366 cats with temporary, loving foster homes through our Lifeline service

What we offer in return

  • You’ll have a direct relationship with a dedicated member of our Philanthropy team, who will answer your questions and bring you closer to the important work that you make possible
  • You may want to discuss the options for providing general support or flexible funding, or to learn more about the different aspects of our work and decide how your gift is used
  • You’ll receive updates on the impact of your donation so you can see the difference your support makes to the lives of cats. You may also have opportunities to make behind-the-scenes visits to see our work first hand

Charitable trusts and foundations

We are hugely grateful to all the charitable trusts and foundations that support us.

Some prefer to give flexible funding to allow a grant to be used where it is most needed, while others like to contribute to a specific project or a certain geographical area.
