The Input_Decision tool was developed for selecting the entry parameters for calculations with the FOCUS-PELMO model and complements the "Recommendations for simulations to predict PECgw". Input_Decision 3.3 can be retrieved as an Excel file with macros from the right-hand column.

General information on the program Input_Decision 3.3

• In contrast to previous versions this tool in version 3.3 no longer requires RExcel which is subject to licence for commercial purposes. Therefore the respecting installation procedures are dropped.
• Regarding the execution of the Kendall-Test the R-Code has been translated into 'visual basic' (VBA).
• The program runs on Excel 2007 and higher without requiring special installation measures.
• Comparative calculations between the previous version 3.2 (invoking RExcel) and the current version 3.3 (invoking VBA) on realistic and synthetic pH- and Kf-relevant values of 35 substances / metabolites revealed no differences. The individual data sets comprised 3 to 28 values.
• Additionally the limit of the number of input values has been increased from 10 to 30.
• After starting the program and entering of respective data the button 'Kendall-Test' produces the Kendall-Tau value and the p-value. In case of significant correlations (p < 0.05) the field is shown in green.
• The program is faster and more stable than the previous versions.
• The statement of significance by means of the Kendall test is mathematically meaningful only with 5 values or more.
• In order to generate diagrams below the table 'Koc' the 'Solver' must be enabled in Excel.
