The Youth Council is a small cohort of students who get behind-the-scenes access to the museum, plan a program for teens, curate an exhibition of student work, and learn about the museum’s exhibitions and collections.

Storytelling as Liberation: A Conversation with Andrea Morales and Micaela Watts

Photographer Andrea Morales’s portrayal of our region is deeply rooted in the communities she engages with. Her approach to her photography is informed by “movement journalism,” and her photographs often document social and environmental movements with local and national resonance.Join us for a panel discussion that will include Andrea Morales, Adrienne Johnson Martin, Ariel Cobbert, and will be moderated by Micaela Watts. This dynamic panel will explore the idea that storytelling can be a part of our liberation.

Join us for live music at your art museum! Each week we host different Memphis music group to showcase the wonderful sounds of our city.' Join us for "Sounds of Memphis" every Thursday evening, where art and melody converge. Each week, a new Memphis powerhouse presents a unique evening that showcases the city's unparalleled musical legacy. Figure Drawing

Figure Drawing is back by popular demand! Artists of all levels can practice and increase their skills drawing the human form at Memphis' art museum. Led by a local artist, sessions will include either a nude or clothed model, giving artists the opportunity to practice drawing both.

Homeschool Day

Memphis's art museum offers free Homeschool Days for homeschool students of all ages and their families. Homeschool Days occur six times a year - three in the fall and three in the spring. Each of these days explores the museum’s permanent collection and special exhibitions through a specific theme.
