At the end of last year, our team made an exciting prediction: We told you that 2024 would be the year of the engagement, and as anyone with an active social media account can attest, we were right. Couples across the country have been taking to Instagram and TikTok in droves to share their updated relationship statuses and those brand-new ring selfies. This post-proposal phenomenon isn’t about showing off a sparkly new diamond, though; it’s about wanting to let everyone be part of this special occasion in some way, which is something our cover stars Aimee Song and Jacopo Moschin remember acutely. “I’m an influencer! I like to document everything,” Aimee says of sharing snaps from their magical proposal (which took place in front of the Eiffel Tower, no less) on social media.

With nine months left before we usher in 2025, we expect that there are plenty of proposals still to come. That’s why we chose to launch our first-ever Engagement Issue, which was created in partnership with our friends at Men’s Wearhouse, right now: The average American couple dates for anywhere from two to five years before taking the next step, and with so many relationships taking off after 2020, we’ve officially hit that proposal sweet spot.

No matter where you are in your engagement journey—whether you’re in the early stages of ring shopping or have a sneaky suspicion that your partner is about to pop the question—our latest digital issue was created to help you. With advice on how to know you’ve found “the one,” a comprehensive guide to proposal styles, a crash course on the 4Cs of diamonds, and so much more, we’ve organized everything you need for a successful, memorable, and meaningful proposal—both on the asking and the receiving ends—right here.

In the era of the viral proposal, a moment driven largely by the influencers of this day and age, the live footage of Jacopo’s knee-drop—which unfolded on a Paris balcony—is “for internal use only,” he tells Brides. Instead, that proposal co...

"I feel like we already are married. [The wedding] would be like a celebration, getting friends and family together, but I don't think anything in our real, concrete life would change from the day before to the day after."
