We are looking for an experienced developer in electronic design, firmware, and system integration to create an autonomous surveillance system. The device will be solar-powered, capable of detecting motion, performing AI-based inferences, and sending alerts through configurable communication modules.
The system is intended for operation in remote areas with limited connectivity, optimizing energy consumption and offering flexible communication options (Wi-Fi, LoRaWAN, or 4G/LTE).
Project Objectives:
Design and develop a compact and autonomous solar-powered device.
Integrate motion detection capabilities using PIR sensors.
Incorporate image processing using the Coral Dev Board Micro to detect specific objects.
Implement a data transmission system configurable based on the installation environment (Wi-Fi, LoRaWAN, or 4G/LTE).
Optimize energy management to ensure continuous operation, even with limited sunlight.
Device Operations Flow:
Idle State:
Only PIR sensors remain active to detect motion.
All other system components (cameras, Coral, communication modules) remain off or in low-power mode.
Motion Detection:
A PIR sensor detects motion and sends a signal to the management microcontroller.
The microcontroller activates the corresponding camera and wakes up the Coral Dev Board Micro.
Image Capture and Processing:
The camera captures an image or sequence of images and sends it to the microcontroller.
The microcontroller transmits the data to the Coral for real-time inference.
Object Identification:
The Coral analyzes the images using AI models (TensorFlow Lite) to detect objects included in a predefined "blacklist."
Data Transmission:
If an object of interest is detected:
The microcontroller activates the configured communication module (Wi-Fi, LoRaWAN, or 4G/LTE).
Alerts and relevant data are sent to a preconfigured server or endpoint.
If no relevant objects are detected, the system returns to idle state.
Energy Management and Recovery:
The used components are turned off or placed into low-power mode.
The microcontroller monitors the batteries, switching between them as needed to ensure efficient charging.
The system resumes passive monitoring using the PIR sensors.
