CHAPTER 20
Confused and Trapped
After what happened with Elena, Peter didn't get closer to her anymore, nor did he return to the clinic. He missed their conversations and seeing her laugh. He felt sad and didn't know the true reason. He liked Elena a lot, and it was true that he had feelings for her. But he had been dating Luisa for over a year, and they got along well. Why didn't he enjoy her kisses anymore?
Why did he feel so bad? He had apologized to Elena and promised not to approach her as a man anymore. He didn't want her to leave. But in his mind, he couldn't stop hearing her say, "I love you," and every time he thought about it, he remembered the taste of her kisses, which made him feel very discouraged.
One morning, he woke up suffocated by a dream. He saw Elena in the clinic, looking at him and smiling. He told her he loved her, and she ran into his arms. When he held her in his arms and they kissed, the alarm clock rang, and Peter woke up with that image in his mind.
"Are you feeling okay, son?" Peter asked.
"Yeah, Dad, I'm fine."
"Are you sure? I've been watching you for days, and you seem a bit down."
"This is an example of my work, in case you are interested in hiring me."
