I'm seeking a registered professional engineer to design a 100' x 35' x 12' metal canopy for bidding purposes. Key requirements include: - Creation of detailed structural drawings - Use of steel as the primary material for the canopy structure - Adherence to industry standards for the design Ideal candidates will have: - Extensive experience in designing metal structures - A thorough understanding of industry standards - A track record of creating high-quality, bid-ready engineering drawings. SOW - This project is a design-build contract. The Contractor shall be responsible for producing a complete and usable design and its construction, produced by a licensed professional engineer The Contractor shall complete a complete and usable design for a 100’ by 35’ covered storage facility that will accommodate at a minimum 9 boats at Southwinds Marina. All designs and drawings shall be prepared by a registered professional engineer of the required disciplines. 2.5.1.1. Each bay shall be 25' by 35' with four total bays. The covered storage facility shall have a clearance of at least 12' between the ground and the ceiling structure on the Northwest opening. The roof will have a 3/12 single sloped roof towards the Southwest side with a backside total height no less than 10 feet. There will be a 12-inch vent between the roof and the backside panels. 2.5.1.2. The overhead protection structure will use 22-gauge Steel R panels for the roof and contain steel columns that will support the 100’x 35’ structure. 2.5.1.3. The roof paneling and all steel structure will have the same paint and be applied in accordance with the manufacturer, prior to construction. 2.5.1.4. The covered storage facility shall be free standing with new concrete column footings placed along the edges of the facility in the gravel storage lot. 2.5.1.5. The covered storage facility shall be able to withstand both positive and negative wind loads. The Contractor shall be responsible for researching all historic weather conditions in the local area and install overhead protection that will withstand these conditions. The Contractor shall design structure to meet regional wind loads as per UFC 1-200-01 DOD Building Code. 2.5.1.6. The dead load of the covered storage facility shall consist of the structural frame and all other materials of the structure and meet UFC requirements. 2.5.1.7. Grounding rods shall be installed with the overhead protection structure for protection against lightning. A complete Lightning Protection System (LPS) is not required for this structure. 2.5.1.8. The overhead protection structure will be painted on the columns, roof panels, and fastened joints with a color choice approved by the Government. 2.5.2. All design submittals shall be submitted in PDF format. The CAD drawings shall be compatible to the Autodesk AutoCAD 2020 version
