Technically speaking, Reimatec is a thin, colourless, and non-toxic layer of polyurethane that makes the fabric waterproof. Tiny pores on the inside of the fabric make sure that the small adventurers remain warm and dry, as water vapour can pass outwards but any water can’t get in. Taped seams finalise the waterproofness. Thanks to water and dirt repelling material, Reimatec clothes are also easy to keep clean.

Reima is constantly designing new, better materials and aims to reduce the number of different materials in their products so that they can be recycled into new products at the end of their life cycle. By 2023, Reima’s goals are to produce 20% of their clothing from only one material, allowing them to be fully recycled. Reima pants and coveralls can last a whopping 30,000 rounds of sanding, and the strongest Reimatec fabrics up to 80,000.
