About the Collection

Critical Care is calling for submissions to our Collection on Non-invasive Respiratory Support in Critical Care. Non-invasive ventilatory assistance is more and more frequently applied in patients suffering from respiratory failure of different etiologies. While on one hand, several technical improvements led to an earlier and wider application (also pushed by COVID pandemics), the limitation and potential risks arising from a non-invasive approach have become more evident, as well as the need for propre monitoring. This collection gathers relevant papers on the application of non-invasive ventilatory, focused on different aspects, such as: technological improvements, clinical indications, impact on outcome personalization of treatment, monitoring and future perspectives.
