BMC Public Health is calling for submissions to our Collection, Impact of disability on quality of life.
This is a critical area of research that encompasses the physical, psychological, and social consequences of bodily impairments, and mobility disabilities and neurological and learning disabilities. Understanding the multifaceted challenges faced by individuals with disabilities is essential for developing inclusive policies, interventions, and support systems that promote their well-being and quality of life.
Research in this field has advanced our understanding of the complex interplay between disability and various aspects of life, including healthcare access, employment opportunities, social participation, and mental health. We encourage submissions that explore a broad range of topics within this field, including but not limited to:
- Social determinants of health for individuals with disabilities
- Effectiveness of rehabilitation programs
- Role of assistive technologies
- Healthcare access and outcome disparities
- Mental health interventions for disabled individuals
- Social integration and participation
- Quality of life across different disabilities
- Experiences of marginalized groups within the disabled community
- Longitudinal studies on quality of life
- Cross-cultural comparisons of disability impact
This Collection aims to inform public health strategies and policies that can mitigate the negative impacts of disability on quality of life and enhance support systems available to disabled individuals. By advancing the knowledge base, we hope to promote a more inclusive society where individuals with disabilities can thrive.
This Collection supports and amplifies research related to SDG 3: Good Health and Wellbeing and SDG 10: Reduced Inequalities.
All manuscripts submitted to this journal, including those submitted to collections and special issues, are assessed in line with our editorial policies and the journal’s peer review process.
