Whether you or someone you know is looking for emergency assistance or long-term solutions to stay on top of energy bills, there are several discount programs for qualified customers, as well as an Online Learning Program below to help you learn more about assistance programs. Crisis Bill Assistance

Customers in a temporary financial bind may qualify for up to $1,000 per year in payment assistance to help cover their energy bills.

Energy Support Programs

Energy Support Program: Customers may qualify for up to 25% or 60% discount on their monthly energy bills based on household income level.
Energy Support with Medical Program: If you or someone in your home has a life-threating illness or uses critical medical equipment, you may qualify for up to 35% or 60% discount on your energy bill based on household income level.

State & Local Assistance Programs

• LIHEAP: The Low-Income Housing Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) works with Community Action Programs (CAPs) and other local providers to lower energy costs for those struggling to pay their energy bills. Learn More

• Weatherization: You may qualify for free energy-efficient home improvements, such as extra insulation and A/C maintenance, to help you save energy and money. Learn More

• 2-1-1 Arizona: The 2-1-1 state program serves as Arizona’s main hotline for health and human services information. Dial 211 to find community agencies and resources in your area that can assist you with paying your energy bills. Learn More

Project SHARE

Qualified customers can receive up to $500 in temporary bill assistance through our partnership with the Salvation Army’s Project SHARE program.

Need a little more time to pay your bills? Payment Arrangements can help you get caught up. When you enroll, you can distribute your past-due balance over up to 12 months.

Look Out for Friends, Neighbors and Relatives

Safety Net

If you or someone you know lives alone or relies on a support network, you may benefit from the Safety Net program. You can select a relative or friend to receive a copy of your energy bill so they can remind you when payments are due and more.

Guest Roles

If you or someone you know needs help managing their APS account, assign a Guest Role. With three types of account access, you can choose the access level that works best for you. Guests aren’t financially responsible for the account, but they can help keep an eye on it.

Medical Care Program

Qualified customers who have a life-threatening illness or use essential critical medical equipment that requires electricity can receive notifications to help them better prepare for an outage.
