The Alzheimer's Association website, alz.org®, provides information on the symptoms and signs, diagnosis, progression, treatment and care of Alzheimer's disease and all other dementia. It also provides updates on Association programs, partners and events and offers the means to get support from the Alzheimer's Association 24/7 Helpline (800.272.3900) and your local chapter.

The website offers information and resources for many audiences, including people living with Alzheimer's and dementia, families, caregivers, care professionals, medical professionals, public health professionals, scientific researchers, Alzheimer's advocates, policymakers, volunteers and the general public.

The primary purpose of this website is educational. Alz.org provides general information about Alzheimer's and all other dementia, but this information is not intended, and should not be deemed, to take the place of professional medical advice, diagnosis or treatment. If you have noticed possible symptoms of Alzheimer's in yourself or someone else or have any health-related concerns, please contact your health care professional.

Information on alz.org is free and available to the public. The Alzheimer's Association is not a membership organization and does not charge for access or require subscriptions. There is no paid advertising hosted on alz.org. The generosity of our donors supports the Alzheimer's Association and its website.

Editorial process

Health-related and scientific content on alz.org is written by Alzheimer's Association staff and reviewed by subject matter experts, including scientists, medical professionals and care professionals. We do not use AI or computer-generated content. We do not solicit nor accept external submissions.  

Because much of the content published on alz.org includes medical or scientific information, the Association has assembled a body of experts called the Medical and Scientific Advisory Group (MSAG). As part of our editorial process, MSAG members may be asked to provide expert input, review and provide feedback on website content that discusses certain medical or scientific information. 

The Alzheimer's Association strives to share information that is accurate, relevant and consistently updated in a timely manner. Information on alz.org supports the Association's mission: to end Alzheimer's and all other dementia by accelerating global research, driving risk reduction and early detection, and maximizing quality care and support. Information in Spanish on alz.org

Our Spanish-language website is human-translated. It is updated and reviewed by Alzheimer's Association staff translators fluent in Mexican Spanish with native-speaker proficiency to ensure the correct translation of nuanced material. The Alzheimer's Association also works with translation vendors who are members of the American Translators Association (ATA) and the Globalization and Localization Association (GALA). 

Educational, government or grant-funded pages require notarized translation certificates. When necessary, translated materials on alz.org are provided to an Institutional Review Board (IRB) with a notarized certificate of translation.
 
Corrections and additions to the Spanish language site will be made when necessary. The Association can not guarantee the accuracy of translations we do not provide. For questions about materials in other languages on alz.org, please contact translations@alz.org.
