The Future of Alameda’s Next Park

De-Pave Park, located on the western side of Seaplane Lagoon at Alameda Point, will transform the naval airfield into an ecological park. The 2020 De-Pave Park Vision Plan envisioned a highly sustainable and resilient design approach for De-Pave Park — recycling 100% of the existing site materials, transforming into an ecological park that welcomes sea level rise, and providing opportunities for public access and environmental education. The 2024 De-Pave Park Master Plan(PDF, 19MB) includes all of these elements and will be a place for people to experience the natural world in transition.

If you have any questions or need more information regarding De-Pave Park, contact Justin Long, Director, Alameda Recreation and Parks, at jlong@alamedaca.gov or 510-747-7570.
