What Is the ghd Duet Blow Dry Brush??
The latest innovation from ghd, the Duet Blow Dry 2-in-1 Hair Dryer brush has revolutionised traditional hair-dry brushes to give you possibly the best blow dry of your life.
I know that’s a bold claim but stay with me.
Designed to simultaneously dry and style your hair, this blow-dry brush creates up to three times more volume, eliminates frizz, and adds 50 per cent more shine.
Thanks to people much smarter than I am, ghd have blended the best of their dryer and heated styling technologies to create what they’re calling “Heat-Air Xchange Technology”™.
This innovation features a unique aerodynamic system that converts energy from airflow to actively heat the barrel plate and bristles.
The outcome is a flawlessly smooth, voluminous blowout, without the damage.
Here are some more swoon-worthy facts:
Snag-free heated bristles: No tangling or breakage.
Temperature sensors: Monitor the surface temperature 400x per second.
Long-lasting results: 24-hour hold and up to 50 per cent more humidity resistance.
Bespoke acoustic system: Conversation-friendly sound levels, so no more screaming at your partner/housemate in the other room.
Energy-efficient styling: Up to 40 per cent less energy consumption.
Automatic sleep mode: Automatically switches off if not used after 30 seconds.
The ghd Duet Blowdry becomes the second member of the Duet family, with the
ghd Duet Style launching in February 2023.
These 2-in-1 tools are building out a whole new category for the brand, pioneering wet-to-dry hair transformations.
Now, let’s find out what I really think about the new hot tool.
My ghd Duet Blow Dry Brush Review.
I think I need to start by giving you a little bit of context.
I love a blow-dry brush and I’ve tried a few in my time, so when I heard about this new product development, I knew I was the perfect person to road-test it.
As a certified lazy girl, anything that can streamline my hair styling routine is a winner in my books.
Onto first impressions.
Upon opening the bag, you’ll see the sleek blowdry brush in all its glory.
At first glance, the most notable difference to alternatives on the market is the bristles.
The ghd Duet Blow-Dry Brush features silicon-like, snag-free heated bristles that allow for a flawlessly smooth glide without tangling or breakage.
You’ll also receive a heat-resistant bag and a cleaning brush, which you’d expect at the $595.00 price tag.
It’s slightly heavier than blow-dry brushes I’ve used in the past, but nothing my non-existent biceps can’t handle.
It features a generous-sized cord and an uncomplicated sliding on/off button.
I was pleasantly surprised by how quiet it was once I turned it on. They weren’t lying about it offering conversation-friendly sound levels.
After about 45 seconds, the device will beep to signal that it’s roaring and ready to go.
Time to chat about its performance.
As I’ve mentioned already, this is a wet-to-styled tool, so straight after an
everything-shower, I could get to work.
No need to pull out the array of hot tools that live in my bathroom cupboard—my husband will be happy about that. Tick.
After taking a section of hair, I did a few passes from root to tip and, to my disbelief, it was dry already.
What followed was some gliding, rolling, and flicking of the wrist, and before I knew it, I was living my 90’s supermodel fantasy.
The best part? The compliments I received when walking into the office. My smooth and shiny locks lured my colleagues in from all corners of the office.
Suffice to say, I had a pep in my step all day long.
Hot tip: This also works great as a hair-refresh tool. Add a little bit of your favourite dry shampoo and spend 5-10 minutes with this bad boy, and your hair will look brand new.
More of a visual person? I got chu.
Our Retail Marketing Content Coordinator Chloe will show you how it’s done below.
Final Thoughts
Now, the moment you’ve all been waiting for. Would I invest in the ghd Duet Blow-Dry Brush myself?
$595 is a lot of money and I won’t lie, my head went around in circles a few times trying to work out whether I really thought it was worth it.
But as I looked at the other blow-dry brushes in my collection, I came to an easy conclusion.
The reality is, this isn’t your typical blow-dry brush. Its capabilities and innovative technology far outperform anything on the market.
By no means am I saying you should spend your entire life savings on this, but if you’re comfortable splurging on a hot tool that’s an investment in your hair’s health, then go for it.
Let’s break it down:
You’re getting a hot tool that both dries and styles all at once—emphasis on the styled.
You’re saving yourself precious minutes in the morning. I know I’m always seeking out ways to spend more time in bed.
And finally, you’ll achieve your dream blowout guilt-free. No more ruminating on how much damage your hair has endured thanks to your 210-degree curling wand.
Case closed.
