Airborne Toxics
Reducing the public’s health risk from exposure to airborne toxic chemicals is one of California’s critical air quality goals. While the levels of toxic air pollutants have decreased significantly, mostly because of controls on cars, diesel trucks and fuels, more must be done. Children, we now know, are more sensitive to airborne toxic pollutants than adults and more must be done. One important step is the creation of the Community Air Protection Program.
