Hi @teaneedz,
This is not a known issue related to this specific release. We do know that automatic updates fail sometimes, and it seems to be an issue that is affecting other plugins as well. We will of course look in to it. It looks like your host is GoDaddy? You don’t happen to know what the errors were exactly?
I don’t know what any logs are showing. This is a managed WP install and the plugin had to be disabled … I’m unsure if WF pushed core updates out around the 16/17th, but if so, didn’t want another update to occur again that would bring the site down.
HTTP 500 – Internal Server Error is what I got pinging the site before deactivating the plugin.
Hi @teaneedz,
When a “HTTP 500 – Internal Server Error” happens in the browser, an actual error message is logged in the PHP error logs. If you don’t have PHP error logs available on the site, you should consider enabling WP_DEBUG so that you can find the actual error messages when there is a problem with your site.
It’s possible that a Wordfence plugin update failed, but I’m afraid there isn’t much more I can tell you without knowing what the actual error was. Hopefully your host should be able to help you find the errors if you ask them.
I had the same problem today on a client’s website – also hosted with GoDaddy Managed WordPress. Here are the errors:
Warning: require_once(vendor/wordfence/wf-waf/src/init.php): failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /home/content/p3pnexwpnas03_data01/16/2288916/html/wp-content/plugins/wordfence/wordfence.php on line 63

Hi @madbirdesign2!
Sorry for the late reply. Thanks! That looks like the scenarios we’ve seen previously. We need to look in to this more. Would you be able to send me a diagnostics report from Wordfence from this specific site please?
Via Wordfence > Tools > Diagnostics at the top of the page there, send the report to asa@wordfence.com and put in your username madbirdesign2
That would be super helpful!
Hi @teaneedz,
I hope Asa was able to help you out!
I’ve gone ahead and marked this thread as resolved. If you’re still having issues with Wordfence, feel free to open another thread!
Thanks!
