Recently I came across this similar issue where I think that the user Cristian Draghia gives an answer that steers away from the main problem in the topic.

Other translating plugins such us WPML, Polylang and WeGlot give the ability to export product feeds in different languages. So in Google Merchant Center one can import a product feed for a given country in their relevant language.

While you can still use one feed to multiple countries, it is best to upload translated product data in the local language of the country that you’re trying to market your product:

Upload translated product data as a new feed in a local language and with prices in the currency of the target country. Pay attention to the requirements for product prices and taxes in different countries.

I can figure that the reason why this is not happening is perhaps because TranslatePress translates strings in the frontend while the product stays the same, unlike plugins like WPML which “duplicate” product posts for its translations, hence giving them a new ID and allowing to discriminate by language on the product feed exports.

Nevertheless, Translatepress is still very convenient in many other fronts, and a strong contender among the best translation plugins and I expect an alternative to get XML product feeds in multiple languages.

    Is this possible?

    Thank you,

    Hello there,

Thanks for reaching out to us!

You are indeed correct with your observation, our string by string approach prevents us from doing this. At present, translation of XML Google product Feed is not on our development roadmap.

However, great ideas often come from our users, so we sincerely appreciate your input! We will definitely keep track of your request and consider its feasibility for future update plans.

    Thank you for your understanding!

Thanks Andrei for your sincere answer.

If anyone ends up here looking for a solution for this problem:

What I did was to add meta fields for the fields that need translation (normaly is just <title>, <description>, <link> and product type). Then, using a product feed plugin, map them accordingly in the export for the relevant language.

This can take some time the more products you have, but eventually is doable.

    Hope this helps!

    Hey there,

For the time being we will be marking this ticket as “resolved”. If you encounter any other problems in this case you can always change it’s status or open another ticket.

    Thank you for understanding!

I tried to find an update about the TranslatePress compatibility with product feeds, as TranslatePress email support said it was on the roadmap. Now I read that one of the best Translation plugins for WordPress and WooCommerce is not active fixing this issue?

Translating a webshop is a big task and needed in many cases, but not having a feed translation solution out-of-the box looks like a big drop in development ambitions, not?
