    Hi,

I think the design on the plugin and it’s been straight forward to set up so far.

Is there a way to link the thermometer to the Charitable plugin so that it adds donations in automatically (Then donors can see the thermometer fill themselves after they’ve just donated)

    Thanks!

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

    Hey @courtssite,

This would be a fantastic feature to offer, however there are the following issues:

    • Each fundraising plugin/service (JustGiving, Virgin Money, Charitable) would need a publicly accessible API (the method my plugin uses to ‘talk’ to their internal servers). Some do, most don’t.
    • Ultimeter would have to constantly update to cope with changes in ALL of these API’s to remain secure
    • The code to make this work would be in the region of five to ten times the total amount of code already in the plugin!
    • The extra work to add this feature would require each fundraising service integration to be a paid extension, and there would need to be a clear demand for each service from my users to make the time investment worthwhile

To my knowledge, there are no similar plugins on WordPress that have this feature, other than the ones provided by the fundraising services themselves. I’m always keen to add new features (as long as they can be justified) so would be happy to look into more detail at any particular fundraising services that users think would be a valuable integration.

    Hope that explains the position,

    Regards,

    Ben

    Hi Ben,

Thanks for taking the time to explain that! That makes total sense 🙂
