    Am I Being Hacked?…

    Someone or something is deleting my widgets and banners from my wordpress blog… This has been happening off and on for the past two weeks… I have changed all of my passwords (hosting, wp admin, etc), but this is still happening…

    Almost every time I make changes, and save them on my blog, a few of my widgets, and/or banners are suddenly missing… This has caused me to shut down my blog for about two weeks now, and I can’t determine who or what is doing this to me…

    What can I do to remedy this situation immediately, so that I can safely reinstate my blog?… Needless to say, I am very upset and frustrated… Please help me to determine who or what is causing this “hack”, how to fix it, and if possible, how to punish the person responsible…

    P. S. This started happening to me shortly after I started using the SuperMagPro theme from Acme Themes. I have corresponded with Acme Themes three times via email, but they say that it is not anyone from their team who is hacking or sabotaging me. So, I switched to the Free WordPress themes, to hopefully solve the problem, but several of my widgets, and a few banners, are still being mysteriously deleted.

    Therefore, I can’t safely and confidently update my site until I solve this horrendous problem… Please help me to get this matter resolved.

    That would be a remarkably polite hack if that’s all that’s happening… 😉

    I can’t see your site as it’s got a under construction type landing page right now.

    It’s just deleting? For the banners, are the files actually deleted or just the use on your theme?

    I didn’t notice this until you asked…

    I checked on my Admin Panel Widgets Page, and yes, all of the widgets are there under Inactive Widgets, and Inactive Sidebar… I don’t know how, or why, they were moved there, because I did not move them there… Up until now, I thought that the widgets had been completely deleted, but instead, they somehow have automatically (or auto-magically) been removed from my theme, and placed on the widgets page in the inactive section…

    I did not use a widget for the four missing banners. I used HTML directly on the page, so I checked that page on my blog, and the four banner HTML’s are all completely gone from the text area of that page.

    In conclusion, the widgets are still there, but they were involuntarily moved to the inactive section, but it looks like the html banners are still missing.

    (1) How and/or Why were my widgets moved to the inactive section? (2) How were my four html banners removed from a page on my blog? (3) How do I correct all of this? (4) How do I prevent this from happening again?
