Great plugin! WordPress should’ve added Secure Custom Field as a core feature. It’s never too late.

I’m not sure why anyone would be against this.

nothing is stolen, it is just a fork – opensource license. Other projects do it the same way, Deno for example is a fork of node. Now I hope it will be developed into a cool direction…
ACF was great until it was sold to wp-engine and even worse since the investment of Silver Lake

SCF had many, many bad reviews that have now been transferred to ACF, where they don’t belong at all. What a shame. Stay clear of SCF, don’t support such behaviour that puts the whole community at risk.

It is not OK to create an atmospheres of doubt in the wp ecosystem. Please keep WP free of this kind of behaviour or it will push us developers to other platforms.

One of the sites I help manage was using a plug-in called Advanced Custom Fields, but that somehow got updated to Secure Custom Fields, and that version caused some pages to break. I tried reinstalling this version of Secure Custom Fields Pro but still had issues. I was able to find a version of the original Advanced Custom Fields and reinstall that and it fixed whatever the problem was.

It looks like this plug-in has some great free features. It’s a shame it didn’t work and caused some pages to break.

I don’t like the way the forking was handled, but I must admit that I enjoy SCF more than ACF. Thank you for shipping this, I hope you will continue to update it.

This sounds good:

• Fields can be applied throughout WordPress—posts, pages, users, taxonomy terms, media, comments, and even custom options pages—organizing your data how you want.
• Using SCF functions, you can display custom field data in your templates …

Sounds good, but how do you do all that? This plugin doesn’t even offer installation instructions.
“Millions of users” but only 500+ downloads – it all sounds very dubious.

Hello, WordPress contributors,

I am using WordPress as a developer more than 5 years.

And I have also contributed. There are some plugins in the Repository WP Adminer, Library Viewer, Gift Wrapping for WooCommerce, with old these plugins have 100% 5-stars reviews.

But this behaviour is Unacceptable.

What are the GPL requirements? Here you just took Advanced Custom Field Pro, removed their license system, changed the plugin author details without copyright anywhere WP Engine (the author of ACF Pro) and you released it as yours.

Such other “marketplaces” do in the Web…

Is all this ethical?

I have also paid plugins! Are you going to take them also?

Trust in WordPress is being cloned with your actions…

Secure Custom Fields is a fantastic addition to the WordPress community.
Users have often been frustrated by plugins that offer free versions whitout basic functions to make you pay for them in the pro versions, this era is over, making life difficult for those who simply want to enjoy the pure open-source WordPress experience.

Wars and feuds do not interest the OWU (Original WordPress User) who represents an overwhelming mass hidden and silent beyond what you can even imagine. never forget this

Thank you, WordPress, for thinking of your user community, who only ask for a simpler digital life and a unified experience.

No doubt, the development community will make Secure Custom Fields much more modern and feature-rich.

This is a great idea and a great plugin that we needed.

Those that are upset because they don’t mind paying for unsecure plugins, they can continue to do so.

Appalling behaviour forcibly taking over this plugin that was originally called “Advanced Custom Fields” by WPEngine. You can’t take over plugins just because of a court battle or feud. By taking over this plugin, you have messed up lots of websites that use this. Absolutely disgusting behaviour. Do not use the plugin!! Go use the plugin available on the official Advanced Custom Fields website.
