2024 PNC Personal Loan Review
PNC personal loans have low APRs, ranging from 5.99% - 32.24%, based on applicants’ creditworthiness. While you might be able to find a lower minimum rate from other lenders, PNC’s maximum is one of the lowest around. That means even people who just barely qualify for a loan will still get a good rate. Plus, PNC further minimizes costs because the origination fee is None. PNC offers $1,000 - $35,000 in funding, with 12 - 60 months to pay the loan off.
There are a few drawbacks to PNC personal loans, such as the fact that rates vary heavily by ZIP code. PNC isn’t as transparent as they could be about approval requirements, either. However, the benefits definitely outweigh the shortcomings.
PNC Personal Loan Review Highlights:
PNC personal loan rates: 5.99% - 32.24%
Funding timeline: As soon as the same day you're approved
PNC personal loan requirements: 18+ years old; SSN, ITIN or passport
Loan amounts: $1,000 - $35,000
Payoff periods: 12 - 60 months
Origination fee: None
Late fee: Varies
Customer satisfaction: PNC holds an A+ rating from the Better Business Bureau and an average user rating of 3.6/5 on WalletHub.
Overall, PNC offers personal loans with very attractive rates, though it’s a bit difficult to get some information on those loans. Fortunately, you can pre-qualify for a PNC personal loan online without hurting your credit. You can also try out WalletHub’s pre-qualification tool to check your status with other lenders.

Had a Compass Account. Big push to Online, Paperless, and 'Virtual Wallet' with PNC. If you are going to push virtual, at least do it well. The website is substandard. Now I can only view (download) the previous three months of activity. Anything older is on a PDF statement. This was a very unpleasant surprise when I wanted to download the activity to an Excel spreadsheet for my records. I thought there was a technical issue with my access, never occured to me it was not available. The teller at the local branch was very pleasant and provided a print-out of required time frame. This is better than what I have available but obviously does not allow sorting or any other functions to simplify my life.
Recently, I went to a local branch to cash a check and discovered it was a 'CASHLESS' location. Apparently, ATMs and loans only.
I should have moved my account 2 years ago—I am in the process of doing so now.

Very straightforward 2% cash back without any fees or category hoops to jump through. Plus, the current $250 signup bonus is above average. The cell phone coverage and no foreign transaction fees are great added features which I will use. The only negative for me is the lack of a one-year extended warranty on purchases, which is offered by most other VISA Signature cards. A minor gripe is the primitive online tools for PNC cardholders. The PNC interface works but looks and feels like it's from the 1990s.
This bank was Compass Bank; they changed the name because too many people were scammed by them, and they did a lot of wrong to my business. I closed everything. Now, I find out they reported me to the credit bureau just because I moved my money and closed my account after they misplaced $2,800, which messed up my credit when they owe me money. Don't use them if you care about your credit.

The PNC supervisor Alexis at 1-877-762-800, ext 412-803-1112, is the rudest person and was unhelpful before we even spoke. I could not relate, and she didn't seem to care about the bank error. She instructed me on how to close my account, blaming me for the issue. I wrote a legitimate check to my daughter, and they bounced it. I can't believe PNC employs such a person.

Absolutely horrible bank to trust with your needs. We were locked out of our account for well over a month while out of the country. Called customer service multiple times hoping to gain access. However, PNC has no safeguard in their system to gain access without physically going into a branch. So we returned to the states and checked our credit rating, only to find PNC had given a derogatory remark, dropping us 130 points. We sell commercial real estate, so this had a huge impact on our lives. Their response, after running us around for 2 weeks, was that there's nothing they can do for us. Sorry! We have just retained an attorney, as this is a very clear flaw in their online banking system—to demand a customer come into a branch physically to gain access to their account after it has already been established. Many people travel like we do. They may not have a car, might be sick, or many other things could prevent this from being possible. Yet, PNC takes no responsibility or action to help remedy the situation for its clients.

I have firsthand experience with a PNC prepaid card. The people at my local PNC branch are super helpful and very nice; they helped set up the card in May 2024 and then, when it had served its purpose and I got a regular PNC Rewards card, they got the prepaid card department on the phone on July 22 and helped me close it. The Prepaid Card Department said I should get my deposit refunded by check in two weeks, which was August 5.
So August 5 came and went. Since the mail delivery around here isn’t what it used to be, I thought I’d give it a few more days. Then a few more. So today, August 19, I went back to my PNC branch and told them I never received the check. The branch person called the PNC Prepaid Card Department and learned that not only had they not sent the refund check, but they hadn’t even closed the account—even though they were told to by another PNC department on a recorded line! To make matters worse, the woman that my branch person got on the phone just couldn’t understand what she was being asked to do—what account it was, what was supposed to be closed, what was supposed to be refunded, etc.
Again, this is no reflection on the people at my local PNC branch, but the PNC Prepaid Card Department is really disorganized and unprofessional. If you really need a prepaid card, I would strongly advise you to take your business elsewhere.

I do not recommend PNC credit cards. I had a checking account with PNC, so they offered me a credit card, okay, great. Low interest rate and high credit line, $28,000. Great! I always made payments on time. I eventually closed my checking account because I didn't use it. About 2 years later, in May 2024, PNC dropped my available credit to $5,000. I called to ask why and was told it was because I no longer had a checking account. So, my credit score dropped about 40 points overnight. If they had at least informed me, I would have happily opened a checking account instead of having my credit score drop 40 points.

Difficult card to get approved . But a high line of credit is given to people who have excellent credit. I would recommend the cash back card rather than the points card.
I have been banking with PNC for many years, but in the last year, I've encountered more issues with this bank. PNC is no longer a traditional bank; most of their locations do not accept or dispenses cash, nor do they have tellers. I have closed all my accounts and yet I still receive bills and incorrect statements. I wanted to close my PNC credit card but was told by one of the employees that I had to do that online, which I proceeded to do. However, I am still being charged interest even though I have paid everything in full. PNC, please remove 'bank' from your name because you're not truly a bank anymore.

"Amit intentionally disconnected the call before I could obtain the necessary information." Following what appeared to be a standard conversation for any banker, I was left dissatisfied due to his prejudicial assumptions and evident unawareness of my current financial standing. When I requested an email for a referral, Amit refused, stating, "I don't work for you; I'm not sending you an email." I then asked for a telephone number and a contact person. After I requested the spelling of the banker's name, Amit decided the most appropriate customer service tactic was to disconnect the call. I hope your day is better tomorrow, Amit; I will be seeking financing elsewhere.

What horrible customer service! Do not get a card from here because you'll be dealing with people who have no idea how to do their job. 'Victoria,' supposedly a customer service representative, didn't even know the terms and conditions of the credit card that she represents. She could not point or direct me to where she thought policies were in the agreement because she didn't have it, but I did, and it's not in there. This place is a joke, not to mention their sky-high interest rates and fees. Cutting that card up was a pleasure.

Automated service is impossible to get through! It doesn't recognize the input of any number, nor does it allow commands by voice. No agent comes on the line, then the automated system hangs up on you.
