Utah absentee ballot deadlines

Request deadlines

  • In Person: Utah automatically sends ballots to all registered voters, but for individuals who need a ballot mailed to a location other than their registration address, an application must be received 11 days before Election Day.

Ballot deadlines

  • Voted ballots are due: If in-person, received by Election Day; if mailed, postmarked the day before Election Day.

Utah absentee ballot rules

Absentee ballots will automatically be sent to all registered voters. If you need your ballot sent somewhere other than your usual address, provide the completed alternate address request form to the election officer no later than 11 days before the day of the election.

All registered Utah voters automatically receive mail ballots. If you need your ballot mailed someplace other than your usual address, go to vote.utah.gov.

Tracking your ballot

You can track your ballot directly with your state.

Once you receive your ballot...

  1. Once you receive the ballot, carefully read and follow the instructions.
  2. Sign and date where indicated.
  3. Mail your voted ballot back to the address indicated on the return envelope, or drop it off at a ballot drop box or polling place.
  4. Double-check the deadlines and be sure to cast your voted ballot on time to be sure it is counted.
